for everyone

Yesterday morning, within hours of each other, two of the Philippines' well known novelty celebrities, passed on...

To this new generation, Yoyoy Villame and Kuya Cesar may not popularly known. But for those of us who knew them several years ago, Yoyoy Villame was the original novelty king of Pinoy songs, having come out with compositions as early as the mid-1970s. Kuya Cesar on the other hand, has been identified with local Philippine radio since the Martial Law era. His novelty rests on deliberately talking slow over the radio, where he currently has a weekly program over at DZMM.

Bye Yoyoy.

Even though you passed away,
your songs will always stay.
Engraved in all our minds and in all our hearts,
your songs are there and will never depart.
I know heaven now is rejoicing,
for they know that you are ariving.
and I know God is very happy.
for you left behind songs of glee.
Indeed you are the King of Pinoy Novelty
Thank you so much Yoyoy Villame.
